Keanon Lowe, a football coach at Parkrose High School in Oregon is being called a hero after disarming a student with a shotgun on May 17th. Surveillance video shows the coach embracing the student with a tight hug after the gun was taken from the scene. This scenario could have ended tragically if not for Coach Lowe's quick thinking. Granados-Diaz walked into the classroom with the gun and Coach Lowe immediately lunged toward the him disarming him. According to news, the other students ran out of the classroom during the scuffle. Disarming the student is heroic enough but it's the hug afterwards that has pulled at everyone's heart strings. According to KATU, Granados-Diaz was suffering with mental health related issues at the time.
