Rachel Reinert wasn't even 21 when I first met her while working in West Palm Beach. It was my very first show as a Music Director, and I was so nervous that everything would go perfect that day.
Rachel may look familiar to you, and that would make sense, she used to sing in the group Gloriana!
They were kind enough to play the show we had going on for free, they were a newer act out of Nashville with incredible harmonies, and the crowd loved them!
The day I met her and the rest of the band was about 10 years ago now. A lot has changed, and yet in a world where "friendships" get lost in the shuffle of the entertainment business, we have all remained friends.
The band has since gone in their own directions, but Rachel has been working on doing her own solo career ever since.
She will tell you that the road hasn't been easy. Even though all of the right people have seen her perform over the years with the Gloriana, that doesn't mean that you will automatically be pushed to the front when being considered for a new deal. Numerous doors were been closed, promises made were never kept, but through it all Rachel had a plan, and while she will say she wasn't out to "Prove them wrong," she was definitely out to prove herself right!
Rachel is a California native, and says her new single "Cool" definitely is a representation of her California roots. It carries a laid back California feel to it, and while she went into the writing session wanting to write about her first love, says that the song evolved into a song about their relationship and how it changed into a lifelong friendship.
Ok, enough of me rambling on, I am just so proud of Rachel for never giving up, and wish nothing but success for her. Take a listen to Rachel Reinert's first solo single... "Cool"
