Meet Mitchell Tenpenny

posted by Casey Carter -

Coming up on March 29th, 96.9 the Kat and Scott Clark Toyota present Ones To Watch 2018 at Coyote Joe's.  This show will feature five of the most talked about up-and-comers in Country Music- Michael Ray, Trent Harmon, Jillian Jacqueline, Jimmie Allen, and Mitchell Tenpenny- and will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Michael Ray is a former iHeartCountry On The Verge artist and you know him from his songs "Kiss You In the Morning," "Think A Little Less," and his new song "Get To You."  Trent Harmon was the final winner on the Fox version of American Idol and his new song "You Got 'Em All" is quickly climbing the charts.  Jillian Jacqueline may be new, but she already has impressive stats behind her, racking up over 25 MILLION streams and 1.4 monthly listeners to her name.  Her debut song to radio is "Reasons."  Jimmie Allen has written a song that appeared in a Superbowl commercial, he stars in a You Tube series chronicling his path to Nashville- which includes living in his car, and his debut song "Best Shot" is incredible.

And then there is Mitchell Tenpenny.  I have seen the other four perform already and all four of them were fantastic!  But up until this weekend, I didn't know too much about Mitchell Tenpenny.  After this weekend and getting to see him perform, I just became a huge fan and I cannot wait for you to see him at Ones To Watch!  He wrote the hit song "If The Boot Fits" for Granger Smith, and his debut song is called "Drunk Me."

Here is the performance I got to see over the weekend of him performing "Drunk Me."

Pretty friggin' awesome, right?

Even though it was St. Patrick's Day and he wanted to start drinking with the rest of us, he took a few moments to do a quick video with me so that you in Kat Country could get to know him...

So whatever you do, make it a point to join us on March 29th at Coyote Joe's for Ones To Watch.  With Mitchell, Michael, Trent, Jillian, and Jimmie, I PROMISE you will not be disappointed.  See you there!
