You Tuber crashed plane, FAA determines it was deliberate

I just gotta say... this guy is kind of a jerk. A You Tuber by the name of Trevor Jacob posted a video back in December titled "I Crashed My Plane." In the video, it appears as though the engine in his plane went out and he had no choice other than to jump and let the plane crash into the side of a mountain in the Los Padres National Forest in California.

But upon posting the video, several red flags went up, making people- including legit pilots AND the Federal Aviation Administration- wonder if the crash was staged for You Tube views. For instance, he never tried to restart the engine. He never radioed for help. He had the cockpit door open before he claimed that the engine failed. He was already wearing a parachute (OK, in the video, he states that he "always" wears a parachute just in case... but... really???) He had cameras mounted on the outside of the plane- and you can assume that those cameras were there to catch footage of the impact, otherwise why would they be there? And, just how, exactly, would one explain the selfie stick that he was holding to catch the video of his free fall? Does he always carry a selfie stick "just in case" as well??

And the biggest question of all... did he really think people are stupid enough to fall for this being "real???"

The Federal Aviation Administration investigated and determined what pretty much everyone already knew- that his crash was staged. He did have a pilot's license, which the FAA has revoked, stating "On November 24, 2021, you demonstrated a lack of care, judgement, and responsibility by choosing to jump out of an aircraft solely so you could record footage of the crash." It is against FAA regulations to operate an aircraft in a careless or reckless manner as to endanger the life or property of another.

As of me writing this, his video- complete with poor editing- has over 1.9 million views.
