Nonprofits, charities and local businesses are doing their part to help students navigate remote learning this year.
Aquesta Bank in Cornelius plans to open up their three community centers to students to be used for learning pods.
“I thought, well this would be a great use of our space, allow these children to come in here, use our WiFi, use our facility,” Aquesta Bank VP Laura Engel said.
They're even taking it a step further and teaming up with Make an Impact Foundation to provide snacks, donations and volunteers. The three centers will be available in Mooresville, Cornelius and Huntersville.
Across town in South End, the Collector's Room is offering up its space as a 'South End Study Hall' and Jolly Lollies is opening its space in Chantilly.
