Wednesday Morning around 4am, Asheville police arrived on the scene at 15 Woodfin Street following a stabbing near an apartment complex. The suspect, 54-year-old Donald Lory barricaded himself inside the complex and refused to come out. The entire complex was cleared as police tried to get the suspect to surrender. It took police and crisis negotiation teams five hours before Lory finally gave in. He was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Julia Cavaliere who was also in the apartment with Lory, was charged with resist, delay, obstruct. According to police, the victim was sent to Mission Hospital in critical condition.
