CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Mecklenburg County Health Director Gibbie Harris said there are two presumptive positive coronavirus cases in Mecklenburg County.
Harris said she is not sure if they are residents of the county but there is at least one case at this time.
This means North Carolina has 14 cases of Coronavirus in the state. According to officials, only one of the cases is confirmed.
Gov. Roy Cooper announced Thursday at a Coronavirus Task Force meeting that there were three new cases in the state: Two in Forsyth County and another in Johnston County. Cooper said more cases are expected as test results continue to come in.
DHHS said the couple from Forsyth County were on a cruise where other travelers tested positive. The exposure for the person from Johnston County is still under investigation.
"I know there are other results coming," Cooper said. "This epidemic is going to get worse before it gets better, we all know that."
