A new school year is underway and there are already reports of students being shamed by their teachers. A 13-year-old Texas student was told that his hair cut was against the school's DRESS CODE. As you see in the picture, the young man had a tight-fade and a designed hard part. Because of the design he was given an ultimatum. Take an in-school suspension or fill in the design on his head with a marker. Because the student didn't want to lose his place on the track team he chose the marker. Yes, teachers colored this design in with a permanent marker and his parents were never notified. Now the school is being hit with a lawsuit by the parents.
My son Bear has been getting designs shaved into his hair since he was two years old. It's a fade and a way to be different. These teachers should be ashamed of their actions. First and foremost, if there's an issue with a child's "dress-code" notify the parents and discuss the issue.
