UPDATE: The Elizabethon, TN fire chief says Dale and his wife are OK and it appears there's no major injuries.
According to the Carter County Sheriff's Office, retired NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. was transported to the hospital after a plane crash at the Elizabethton Municipal Airport. Earnhardt's wife Amy and their child Isla were also on board.
According to airport manager Dan Cogan, the private plane ran off the end of the runway and caught fire. He says all passengers are out of the plane.
