Forbes is calling Toby Keith a "cowboy capitalist."

The country star has landed on the cover of the business magazine for their annual "Celebrity 100" issue.  According to Forbes, Keith has earned $500 million is his career.  Over the last 12 months, Keith cashed in $65 million and has earned at least $48 million, each year, in the past five years.

He's doing well.

Toby makes his money the typical way that musicians get rich, from album and ticket sales, but he also has plenty of endorsements, his own line of liqours, and a restaurant chain.  He also has his own record label, Show Dog.  Keith also partnered with Big Machine, the record label home of Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, and Rascal Flatts.

Toby Keith gets paid every time Taylor Swift gets paid, Forbes notes.  Big Machine's Scott Borchetta notes that Keith is a very smart businessman and he knows because, he says, "I send him checks."
