Country icon Little Jimmy Dickens will begin his first week of radiation on a pre-cancerous condition on his vocal chords on Thursday, July 10.

The 92-year-old singer has received tons of cards from well wishing fans.  He tells the Grand Ole Opry, "If those are bills, you can keep ‘em.  If they’re royalty checks or cards from the best fans in the world, I couldn’t be more excited or appreciative.”

Little Jimmy Dickens has been a staple on the Grand Ole Opry stage for 64 years.  In recent years, he's had a resurgence in popularity thanks to his appearances in Brad Paisley albums and videos.
