Kenny Chesney has toured every year since 2001. Now, he's going to take a break. After he wraps up his current No Shoes Nation tour, Kenny will sit out a year.
He tells the Hollywood Reporter, "I love touring more than anyone in the world. I love the band, the crew, the whole team -- and it's weird to not be looking at next year's stage design, but I shouldn't make albums to service the tour. So I'm going to put the music first, dial it back and do the strangest thing in the world: not hit the road next summer."
Chesney, who performed in Charlotte on Thursday night, is country's biggest live act. He routinely fills football stadiums.
Since the 2002 release of the No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem album, Chesney has relentlessly toured and recorded. In the last 12 years, Chesney has released 9 albums and extensively toured every year.
He needs the break.
